Please make sure that your DNA and primer concentrations follow the guidelines on our template preparation page.Your next step will be to access our online submission system. The instructions for filling out the form are embedded in the form. Just move your cursor over the red triangles and the instructions will pop up for you to see. Please include any special instructions at the bottom of your request form.
For larger orders please note: If you will be taking advantage of our bulk discount pricing and submitting 48 or more samples at once, please submit your samples in a v-bottom 96-well PCR plate (click here for diagram). Please aliquot your samples according to our directions. Samples 1-8 should be in wells A1-H1, samples 9-16 should be in wells A2-H2, etc. For your convenience, you will notice that these well numbers correspond to the well numbers on our request forms. Be sure to label plate and primer/s clearly with your name and order number and cover the plate with an adhesive seal (plastic or foil). Please do not use strip caps as contamination can be a problem.
Once you have submitted your order, bring your DNA to 0208 Storer Hall to put in our drop-off freezer. Then, fill out the information on the sign-up sheet on the wall next to the freezer. If you will be receiving your data via disk or CD leave one in the appropriate basket. Please be advised that unless you have made prior arrangements with us you will not get your DNA and primers back.
You should receive results within 2-3 business days, depending on our current turn-around time. Please be advised that the earlier in the morning you drop your samples off, the faster you will receive your results. We will e-mail the results to you when they are finished unless you have a disk in which case we will send you an e-mail when you can come pick it up. Larger orders and BAC DNA may take longer. We adivse that large orders be tested before proceeding with the whole order so please make a note on your request form if you would like us to test your order.
If you have any problems uploading your online form or have made a mistake on your order form, you do not need to submit a new order. Just e-mail a copy of the corrected form to dnaseq@ucdavis.edu. Thanks and happy sequencing!
